What locals are saying . . .

After taking in the magnitude and solace of the 9/11 Memorial you will certainly be in need of some fresh air and an uplifting activity. A leisurely bike ride along the Hudson River is the perfect way to enjoy a beautiful day and get to your next destination. You can rent Citi Bikes throughout the city by paying and picking them up at a variety of docking stations. If you’re coming from the 9/11 Memorial, I’d recommend the dock at the corner of Liberty and South End Avenue. This will make it easier to get on the West Side Bike Path. You can find all of the Citi Bike locations here: https://member.citibikenyc.com/map/ Once you pick up your bike hop on the West Side Greenway and enjoy a beautiful ride north along the Hudson River. Best bet is to hang to the right side of the path if you want to take your time. Bikes are charged per ride ($3) or per day ($12). If you’re looking to ride from 9/11 Memorial to Columbus Circle at most you’d likely need two 30 minute rides, so I’d recommend returning the bikes when you get off to explore the High Line and then renting new ones for the last leg of the trip. You can also get a time extension to find a new dock if the one near you is full.
