Family Fun Day on Fifth Avenue Park Slope Brooklyn

Brooklyn-Park Slope

This outing is a typical Saturday or Sunday for my family.  We usually start and end with food, with lots of art making, comic book browsing and plenty of running around the park in between.

Konditori “confectionery” in Swedish was born in Park Slope and has since grown into several locations. Grab a cup of coffee and a bagel or one of their amazing muffins (I love blueberry/banana muffin).

We usually stop by the Studio so I can check on things and my son can dive into the large painting area. His latest obsession is making handprints all over his paper and seeing how many colors he can mix at one time :) He also loves making sculptures with our Mixed Media Clay Sculpture project or playing with the magna tiles we always have on hand.

I’ve been obsessed with their gringo tacos and chicken nachos for years now, as well as their brunch cocktails. The food is always on point, and the staff is always friendly to even the craziest of toddlers!

This is a great playground that was renovated a few years ago. The water features are perfect for a hot day, and they also have a ton of equipment for climbing, swings, etc. Its usually hard to pull our son away from this playground, but our next stops usually help.

My son is obsessed with comic book stores and this is one of his favorites. Great selection of books for kids and adults (my husband and I also pick up stuff when we’re here). They also have a lot of toys, action figures and posters for any avid comic fan.

This is a family favorite - we also get all of the desserts for Birthday Parties at our Studio from this delicious bakery. I usually get a chocolate cupcake or their candy cookie. My son loves all sweets, but their chocolate chip cookies or whoopie pies are his favorites for sure.
