Saturday in the City

Manhattan-Flatiron

These are a few of my favorite spots to enjoy on a leisurely Saturday. If you're looking for a little balance of shopping, strolling and few delicious restaurants and cafes, then start your day in Soho and stroll up to the Flatiron area. Between the original Laundress shop and La Pecora Bianca and ABC Cocina you won't be disappointed.

Lindsey Boyd along with her co-founder, Gwen Whiting, created The Laundress - a brand dedicated to eco-friendly detergents, and home cleaning products. When she's not leading sales and marketing and partnerships for the brand, she enjoys being outside with her family and enjoying skiing, biking and bbq.

Founded back in 2004 by Gwen Whiting and Lindsey Boyd, the original Laundress shop in Soho is a beautiful sight. It's classic black and white patterned floor and marble topped island give a sense of style and refinement to something that can be mundane - the laundry. It's anything but here. The shop sells eco-friendly cleaning products that are easy to use.

La Pecora Bianca is a great place to meet a friend, grab a coffee or savor a delicious pasta and Aperol. Their signature pasta is a gramigna with sausage and broccolini and tagliatelle with beef and pork bolognes. They also have a long high top table that's the perfect spot to grab a quick coffee. The setting, the food, it's all just what you need.

ABC Cocina is in my top 3 places to eat in the city. It’s an upscale Latin-American restaurant owned by Michelin-star chef Jean-George Vongerichten. They mostly do tapas (great for sharing). There won’t be much talking during dinner since you won’t stop eating! It truly is a carnival for your taste buds. I would recommend the whole menu but definitely don’t leave without trying the maitake mushrooms with goat cheese and the glazed short rib tacos. I go there on special occasion with my husband since this is where we went on our first date. Don’t mistake ABC Cocina for ABC Kitchen, they’re next to each other but have a very different menu!
