Sunday Smorgasburg in Brooklyn

Brooklyn-Williamsburg

Whether it's Spring, Summer or Winter it's always a good time to checkout Smorgasburg. Brooklyn is an up and coming borough of New York that has developed a unique culture, which you don't fully understand until you visit. Brooklyn is filled with character and charm and is becoming most of a touristy location for visitors to travel. The first spot I'm going to introduce launched in 2011 and has become the largest weekly open-air food market in America.

East River State Park

Smorgasburg is a year round market featuring tons of food vendors and classic flea market items. It is the largest weekly open-air food market in America, attracting 20,000-30,000 people to Brooklyn each weekend to eat from 100 local vendors. In the winter months it’s paired with the Brooklyn Flea and held in door off Atlantic avenue. In the summer months, starting April 6th it’s held in Williamsburg in the East River State Park. Great place to stroll, get some sun and grab a bite along the East River.

There is never a shortage of things to do in Williamsburg. After a full afternoon at Smorgasburg just a few minute walk from the East River State Park is Radegast Hall. It’s the perfect spot to spend a leisurely afternoon or evening with friends. Grab some food - the sausages, burgers and pretzels are always a favorite and see if you can find a slice of a picnic table for your group. There is usually a pretty big crowd here on the weekends and it’s a true mix of locals and tourists, young and old. Between the beer, the live music and the crowd, it’s usually a good time!
