Fried Chicken and Tea in KTown

If you consider yourself a foodie you will want to visit Turntable Chicken Jazz. This is by far my favorite fried chicken spot in NYC. It’s very popular with the locals, and a great spot to get your night started. The place has a great vibe inside and there is music memorabilia throughout the space. I recommend ordering the seafood pancake, kimchi fried rice and something from their great selection of beers and mixed drinks. For the main course I recommend, of course, their Korean fried chicken. My personal favorite is the garlic soy fried chicken. This flavor melts in your mouth- you won’t be disappointed!

After Turntable head a block north to the K-town strip for some bubble tea at Gong Cha. What is bubble tea? It’s flavored tea with tapioca gelatin balls at the bottom of the drink that you can chew while sipping the tea. At first the texture may seem a little bizarre (if you’ve never had it) but the flavors mesh together well and it’s a delightful treat to have after a big Korean fried chicken meal. I recommend a milk based tea but if dairy is not your friend there are other options as well! It might take a while to choose which one to get due to their huge selection.

Just 300 ft away is a place called Third Floor Cafe. It’s a great lounge to cap the night off. It doesn’t matter where you sit; the vibes here are great. There are two sections to sit in; the area to eat in and the area to party. The coolest views are by the window sill. It’s pretty large inside so there should be spots available. The music is great so sit back and enjoy while checking out their amazing cocktail list. I highly recommend exploring their soju cocktail options. If you’re not familiar with this drink, ask the waitress for one of their recommendations. The rest of the night is up to you!
