The short version
We use your info to run Jaunt and make it better. We don’t sell it. Location is only used when you tap Directions. You can delete your account any time in Settings.
Jaunt is a local discovery service that helps you find and share neighborhood itineraries in New York. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've kept it in plain language on purpose.
What we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. If you sign up with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us. We use Supabase to manage authentication and store account data securely.
Profile and content. Anything you add to your profile, and any Jaunts, remixes, notes, or saves you create. Published Jaunts and public profile details are visible to other users; drafts and saves are private to you.
Payment information. If you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number. We keep records of your subscription status and billing history.
Usage information. Basic technical data like browser type, device, pages visited, and general activity within Jaunt (for example, which Jaunts are saved or remixed). We use this to run and improve the service.
What we don’t do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't share your data with advertisers.
- We don't track your physical location. Place data in Jaunts comes from our curators and Google Places, not from tracking you.
How we use your information
To provide the service (accounts, saves, remixes, subscriptions), to communicate with you about your account, to keep Jaunt secure and prevent abuse, and to understand how the product is used so we can make it better.
Third-party services we rely on
- Supabase: authentication and database hosting
- Stripe: payment processing
- Google: sign-in (if you choose it) and place data via Google Places
- Vercel: website hosting
Each of these providers processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We don't use advertising cookies.
Your choices
You can update your profile information in settings at any time. You can cancel your subscription at any time. If you'd like to delete your account and associated data, contact us at the email below and we'll take care of it.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except records we're required to keep for legal or accounting reasons (like billing history).
Children
Jaunt is not intended for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know by email or in the app.
